Fern loves to ask: “I wonder what we’ll discover today?”

Fern and Oak love exploring the Poquoson Learning Garden and discovering the amazing plants and animals that call it home. Together, they will lead you on exciting adventures as you uncover nature’s hidden wonders, meet fascinating woodland friends, and learn simple ways to help protect wildlife.
Whether it is your first visit or you have been here many times before, Fern and Oak cannot wait to explore with you!

Oak loves exploring the places where wildlife hides. Under leaves, beneath logs, around tree roots, and deep in the garden soil, he knows every corner has a story to tell. Oak teaches that even small acts of kindness—like leaving the leaves or planting flowers for pollinators—can help create safe homes for wildlife.
